Outline of Management Training

AOTS has two types of Management Training Programs - one is ODA-funded programs, and the other is Carbon Reduction Technology Promotion (hereinafter abbreviated as CRTP) Programs. Aside from carbon reduction, the latter is designed to promote energy conservation. Please be advised that the two schemes have different conditions of participation such as target countries and participation fee.

1. Target Subjects

Management training is held primarily for the subjects listed in the table below, based on the training needs of developing countries. In order to ensure the effectiveness of the training, each program has specified eligibility requirements relating to details of the work done by participants, their experience and position. As a rule, the programs are implemented at AOTS Training Centers.

  • To enhance the capabilities to promote energy conservation

2. Basic Requirements for Participants in Management Training Programs

In order to participate in the management training, the following conditions must be satisfied, in addition to the work experience and position requirements specified for each program.
  1. As a rule, participants should be citizens and residents of a developing country or region.
    *It is not applicable in the case of CRTP Programs.
  2. Participants should be university graduates and/or have equivalent academic ability or professional experience.
  3. Participants should be, in principle, between 25 and 60 years at the time when they come to Japan.
  4. Participants should have a sufficient working knowledge of the program language to understand lectures, participate in discussions, and make presentations and reports.
  5. Participants should be healthy both physically and mentally.
  6. Participants should possess a clear awareness of the managerial situation in their own organization and submit a report on managerial problems that they are facing at the time of application for the program.
  7. Former participants of AOTS management training programs (Japanese government funded Programs) organized in Japan are not entitled to apply for any program which starts within six months (183 days) after they returned home.
  8. Ex-participants of a Management Training Program can not apply for the same program again.
  9. Participants should not be students, in the armed forces or working for a military-related industry.
Please check here for a list of the target countries and regions. However, countries may cease to be eligible for diplomatic reasons.

3. Financial Arrangements

The financial arrangements of Management Training differ depending on whether an overseas company makes the application directly (only participation in the Management Training Program will be possible; the subsequent Specialized Technical Training will not) or a Japanese host company in Japan makes the application (participation in the Management Training Program and the subsequent Specialized Technical Training will both be possible). 4. Application Procedure

The procedures for Management Training differ depending on whether an overseas company makes the application directly (only participation in the Management Training Program will be possible; the subsequent Specialized Technical Training will not) or a Japanese host company in Japan makes the application (participation in the Management Training Program and the subsequent Specialized Technical Training will both be possible). Guidance will be given regarding the procedures and forms required to apply for the training. Please see below for details.

5. Procedures and Arrangements for Coming to Japan

Guidance will be given regarding obtaining a visa, purchasing air tickets and other procedures necessary for coming to Japan.

6.Others

Guidance will be given regarding the life and rules during training in Japan.
