Enhancing the Japanese proficiency of trainees during the year-end holidays
3days intensive program for Improving Practical
Japanese Language Ability during the winter term(Year end)

Every year, the Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS) conducts a popular short-term intensive program for improving practical Japanese language skills during the year-end holidays. This program is scheduled to be conducted again this year. At the Kenshu Centers(training centers), where participants will reside together during the short-term program. The program aims to enhance the Japanese proficiency of trainees undergoing practical training, and non-Japanese nationals currently employed in Japan.

The program spans three days, and participants will be allocated to small classes based on their proficiency levels. We look forward to your active participation!

Contents and Objectives

Course Targeted Learners Program overview
Course A:
Basic Grammar
  • Those who completed the first half of beginning level.
  • Study time of 150 hours.
  • Proficient in read & write Hiragana and Katakana.
The course aims to brush up those basic grammar and vocabulary in the first half of beginning level based on the textbook "Mina no Nihongo 1".
*Participants are requested to bring the text book .
Course B:
  • Beginner‘s to first half of intermediate level.
  • Study time of 150 to 300 hours.
  • Japanese Language Proficiency Test
    level of about N4 to N3.
  • JCAT test scores of about150 to 200.
The course aims to improve communication skills through the application of Japanese language abilities that participants have mastered to date. The focus is placed on using Japanese language in listening, speech, reading, and writing, rather than on learning new grammar rules.
*Course materials will be provided in class.
Lessons begin at 9:30 a.m. and finish at 4:30 p.m.(2 lessons including 1 hour lunch break) on 29 and 30 Dec. On 31 Dec., lesson starts from 9:30 a.m. and finishes at 12:30 p.m. Each lesson lasts for three hours.
* The minimum number of participants for the course to proceed is 10 people.
* If the minimum number of participants is not met, the course will be cancelled. If the course is oversubscribed, participants may be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. We seek your kind understanding should these situations arise.

"15" is the quota of participants in each session, the class consists of 10-15 participants.

Course Fees

[Course Fees] 15,000 yen (tax inclusive) per person
[Accommodation Fees]     6,280 yen (tax inclusive) per night
[Canteen meals] Breakfast 620 yen / Lunch 820 yen / Dinner 1,130 yen
Meals that cater to dietary restrictions, including religious restrictions,
are available at the training centers.


Please download the registration form from the website of the AOTS, and submit the form via e-mail.
The registration form is requested to be submitted by those Japanese companies that accept the participants.
Registration deadline: 30 November (Wed)
In order to ensure effective learning, AOTS trainees will be grouped into classes based on the level of their
Japanese proficiency at the point of the conclusion of the General Orientation Course at AOTS. Trainees accepted
by companies independently of AOTS and non-Japanese nationals who are currently in employment in Japan are requested
to sit for the following J-CAT test to assess their Japanese proficiency levels. After completing the test,
please input your scores in the corresponding field in the registration form. After the registration deadline, a confirmation letter will be sent to applicants. The letter will notify applicants on whether the course will proceed.


AOTS will issue an invoice together with the confirmation of acceptance into the program. In principal, applicants are
required to transfer the course fees to the bank account by the deadline indicated below. For administrative purposes,
please let us know your scheduled date of payment if you are unable to meet the deadline for payment.
(Applicants are required to bear any fees that may be incurred in the bank transfer.)

With the exception of AOTS trainees, participants are required to pay for accommodation and meals directly to the training center
upon check-out.
As payment procedures differ for each AOTS trainee, please inquire with AOTS on your respective procedures.

After registration has been completed, participants that wish to withdraw from the program due to personal
reasons are requested to pay the full course fees if they withdraw on or after 28 Dec.
If the program is cancelled by AOTS, the full course fees will be refunded to applicants.


Please note that this is a stay-in program. Please consult us if you wish to commute to the training center every day instead.
Please feel free to contact the respective training centers if you wish to stay longer than the course period.
